Expert Reviews on the HTC Legend
- Cnet.co.uk—the good:Good-looking; fast Web browser; great virtual keyboard; responsive touchscreen; plenty of integration with social networks; multi-touch capability; touch-sensitive trackpad; HTC Sense user interface makes Android better-looking and adds useful features; Flash support; bright AMOLED screen; decent call quality; camera has an effective LED light;the bad:Some home-screen widgets need polishing; Android is still somewhat geeky; short battery life;judgement:The HTC Legend lives up to its name. It’s fast, fun, and manages to be easy to use and full of potential at the same time. The HTC Desire, among other phones, offers a bigger screen, but the Legend’s smaller size and lower price may prove more palatable to your pocket
- Trustedreviews—Verdict:The HTC Legend is undoubtedly our favourite Android phone so far. Its screen looks amazing and is responsive, it’s packed with features, and of course that aluminium chassis is something to behold. So if you’re a fan of Android already and you’re looking for a smaller and potentially cheaper device then it’s an easy recommendation. However, we still think Android has some overarching interface issues that make it feel a little clunky. When combined with our few hardware complaints, like the slightly small screen and protruding chin, we feel there are just too many compromises to outright recommend the Legend to those looking for a premium device – particularly as we’re yet to review the Google Nexus One and HTC Desire, which could be better devices overall.
- Cnet Reviews on HTC Legend – silver with”The good: The HTC Legend boasts a beautiful design with an AMOLED touch screen. The Android 2.1 smartphone adds a faster processor, more RAM, and a camera flash. HTC Sense features new and useful enhancements; The bad: The Legend isn’t compatible with North American 3G bands. Camera quality is mixed; The bottom line: With its design improvements and feature enhancements, the HTC Legend is a worthy upgrade from the Hero and one of the most solid and well-built Android phones we’ve seen in its class. We can only hope that a North American version is released soon.”

Surprised that Google Maps doesn’t have the pinch to zoom feature – I thought that was a Android 2.1 benefit (at least it is on my Nexus One?)Nice design however – you mention the speakerphone being weedy, how loud are ringtones when out and about. The Nexus One is far too quiet!
